Leftist bureaucrats hide in their offices and let paperwork do their dirty work for them. That’s why so many conservatives are paranoid—because they should be.
A Colorado school district has been sued for canning a dean of students for allegedly coming out against critical race theory in its “professional development” brainwashing scheme. Though the programmers encouraged open dialogue and promised there would be no reprisals for being honest, the Dean should have seen it coming.
Critical race theory, of course, is pseudointellectual nonsense founded on the premise that America is “systematically racist” because white men baked their inherent racism into the very fabric of the country.
According to CRT, if you’re born white, you’re automatically an incurable racist. The U.S. Constitution, our laws, our government, our schools, and even the logic on which all of it is based is racist.
Put another way, CRT teaches students that white men are evil. It’s a racist doctrine masquerading as the savior of the oppressed.
Patrick Hogarty, the dean in question, is a white man who identifies as an American. Would Marxist school administrators rather he identify as a little girl from Patagonia? Probably.
America First Fights Back
America First Legal filed suit against the Cherry Creek School District last month. The suit contends the district violated Hogarty’s First Amendment rights by having "terminated his employment under false pretenses."
Hogarty was guilty of the unthinkable for airing his views against CRT at a mandatory diversity training session.
During the Woke re-education session—ironically titled “Courageous Conversations”—Hogarty was asked questions like, "What does it mean to be White?" and "What experiences define Whiteness?" And then they sprung the trap, "How do you identify?"
Hogarty answered, "that he identifies as an American, that he loves his country, and that he believes it is the greatest country ever founded."
The district’s equity director reported Hogarty’s statements—which were to have remained confidential—to the school’s Wokenista overlords because the equity detector deemed them to have "racist undertones."
It didn’t take long for the district to eliminate Hogarty’s position. They knew they couldn’t fire him for being a white American who loved his country—the ignorant majority of Americans wouldn’t stand for that, nor would the Constitution—so they invoked budgetary reasons for eliminating his position.
This is where a bit of traditional logic might have helped out the Wokenistas. According to the lawsuit, records show an increase in staffing allocations for the district, not a decrease. A bit of traditional logic would have flagged that fact and potentially saved them a lot of grief.
"Disguised as a ‘budget cut,’ Mr. Hogarty’s position as dean was eliminated because the district found Mr. Hogarty’s pride in the United States of America incompatible with the district’s political ideology that America is a systemically racist nation," the suit, obtained by Fox News Digital, claimed.
"Like other school districts across the country, Cherry Creek has replaced the Bill of Rights with the ‘DEI Manifesto,’ and teachers, students, and parents are being silenced for standing up for the values that make America great," Ian Prior, America First Legal Senior Advisor, said in a statement to Fox.
"We are proud to stand up for all teachers across America who are being unfairly persecuted for daring to challenge a government-sponsored orthodoxy that teaches hatred of America and seeks to marginalize people based on their viewpoints and the color of their skin," he added.
Good for America First Legal. With groups like this around, educators who are proud of their country—no matter the color of their skin—don’t have to feel so isolated on the job. Organizations like AFL have their back. America is great—if you know where to look.
Bureaucratic Discrimination
Anyone who has applied for a position at a university knows the drill. Human Resources departments go to great lengths to ensure the institution they work for doesn’t get sued for discrimination. Lots of paperwork. Lots of signatures. Lots of bull.
It’s the same at Woke corporations and public schools that are hyperaware—and paranoid—about race, gender, and whatever else they anticipate that some wingnut might call discrimination. Who can blame them?
Colleges and universities produce the Woke monsters who can find oppression in a box of chocolates. Woke graduates are attracted to places like the institutions that spawned them and flutter around them like moths to a flame looking for work—because they can’t find a job anywhere else.
College administrators know all of this because most of them are Woke. Leftists outnumber conservative administrators 12-to-1 at the last count. Six percent of administrators say they are at least to some degree conservative. Seventy-one percent say they are liberal or very liberal. These aren’t old-school liberals, they’re the new liberals: the Progressives.
How can Wokenistas forward their ideology—which relies on racism and discrimination like that found in CRT—and comply with HR nondiscrimination policies? They can’t. They have to find other ways to undermine their system.
A recent college graduate looking for a job at a public, university, college, or K-12 school—faculty or staff—may have to lie to land a position. If an applicant who gets invited for an interview happens to identify with the traditional American values of God, family, and country—and is so foolish as to tell the truth when asked—he might not get the job. It’s that simple.
It doesn’t matter if he graduated at the top of his class, has a list of publications in professional journals, won numerous awards, and has recommendations from the best of the best in his field. He’ll get passed over.
If called out for their discriminatory practices, hiring committees can claim the applicant was overqualified so they awarded the position to a true-blue Wokester with a 2.8 GPA, zero publications or awards, and a recommendation from Grandpa. Or they’ll bite the bullet, hire the most qualified candidate, and terminate the contract in a year or two or before tenure comes around.
Or maybe the position will just no longer be funded, as in the case of Dean Hogarty.
Leftists love bureaucracy because they are masters at manipulating the system. To them, everything is a word game, a game they’ve been winning for way too long. Why would anyone have to choose between lying or admitting they are a proud American?
Something’s got to give. It’s time to dismantle Woke bureaucracies. It’s a key step in putting America—and Americans—first again.
